Decoding 5G Revenue Drivers

Q1. Could you start by giving us a brief overview of your professional background, particularly focusing on your expertise in the industry?

I am a telecom industry GTM veteran with global leadership experience in business strategy and team leadership, delivering business outcomes in APAC, India, MEA, and NAM markets during my 30+ years of tenure at Siemens, Ericsson, and Nokia. Regularly invited to numerous industry events as a panelist and speaker to discuss industry trends and technology. Worked with many PE, Hedge funds, and consultancy firms to advise on M&A, Business strategy, and Company evaluation.

Q2. What portion of growth in the next five years will come from consumer mobility versus enterprise use cases like private 5G, IoT, or cloud services?

Consumer Voice contributes more than 50% of Operator revenue at present. By 2030, enterprise services are expected to contribute over 40% of incremental revenue growth.

Q3. Which customer segments—retail consumers, enterprises, or governments—are driving the bulk of new revenue growth?

Enterprise would be the fastest-growing segment, followed by retail customers and government.

Q4. How do decarbonization and green network investments influence market strategy and partnerships?

Telcos embracing decarbonization are not just future-proofing—they’re unlocking new revenue streams, winning enterprise contracts, and attracting ESG-conscious investors. Sustainability is becoming a core pillar of telecom strategy, not a side initiative.

Q5. With the rise of AI, edge computing, and IoT, where do you see the biggest revenue pools forming over the next 3–5 years?

Industrial IOT, Private 5G, followed by AI-enhanced Edge computing

Q6. In NAM and the Middle East, which players are setting the pace on 5G rollouts and digital services, and how does that influence others?

The big 3 in the US, and then STC, Etisalat, and Du in the Middle East.

Q7. If you were an investor looking at companies within the space, what critical question would you pose to their senior management?

Broadly, how are you positioning your company to monetize the convergence of AI, edge, and private networks across enterprise and government verticals—beyond traditional connectivity?
