A leading global player in the research and consulting space approached Knowledge Ridge to gain expert insights into current and future healthcare challenges in swine and poultry production. This included an overview of the diseases, pathogens, parasites, antibiotics, and other issues that can be causes of major economic losses, healthcare expenditure, and have a direct impact on food safety and consumer health. The client also required expert perspectives on diseases that may be perceived as future threats in light of reduced use of antibiotics in animal feeds. Furthermore, the client needed expert insights on the quantitative impact of these issues on the industry, along with solutions to address these problems.

Knowledge Ridge Solution

Knowledge Ridge researchers selected relevant experts from the animal husbandry, veterinarian spaces, and large producers of feedstock and animal nutrition. Experts were phone interviewed to understand their direct involvement with animal health / feed formulation / new product development / food safety, animal nutrition, and regulatory factors. Some of the selected experts included Senior Veterinarians, Scientists, Technical Leads, Regulatory and Policy Consultants, Managing Directors, Vice Presidents, Swine Specialists, Directors of Business Development, and Sales and Nutrition Directors. The final list of experts biography was drafted as per Knowledge Ridge’s phone interviewing process and sent to the client for their selection.

Knowledge Ridge identified 18 experts from the animal husbandry, veterinarian spaces, and large producers of feedstock and animal nutrition. The client selected 15 experts and conducted hourly phone consultations with each of them. This resulted in the client gaining first-hand perspectives and actionable insights into future healthcare challenges in swine and poultry production. Some of the experts shared their perspectives on diseases that may be perceived as future threats in light of reduced use of antibiotics in animal feeds. Other selected experts shared their insights on the quantitative impact of these issues on the industry, along with solutions needed to address these problems.
